SoundCloud: an increasingly popular platform for hosting and sharing audio. Files can be embedded with a “timeline” view which is excellent for prompting discussions, or offering annotations (example).
Audio files that have been uploaded to Soundcloud can then be embedded in your blog or web page. Super cool for sharing without making everybody get an account or visit the Soundcloud site.
WordPress (which is the software that runs this TRUSoundCamp site) is itself a fairly powerful audio sharing tool. The version 3.6 release has native audio and video embedding that works quite well, and the RSS feed uses the necessary code “enclosures” so subscribers can receive automatically updated podcasts.
